Player Assistance Fund

Player Assistance Fund

Millwoods Hockey is committed to making hockey accessible to all families.

To help achieve this, we are pleased to offer a Player Assistance Fund  with a total allocation of $5,000.00 for the 2026-27 season.

This fund is designed to support families experiencing financial challenges that might otherwise prevent a player from participating in our programs.

Purpose of the Fund:
The goal of the Player Assistance Fund is to ensure that every child who wants to play hockey has the opportunity, regardless of financial circumstances.

We want to reduce barriers to participation while maintaining fairness and confidentiality for all families.

How the Fund Works:

  • Assistance is provided up to $150.00 per qualified player.
  • Families who wish to apply are asked to submit a short explanation  for support when completing the online application.
  • A copy of the family’s Notice of Assessment for 2025 is required to verify eligibility, unless the family has already been approved for funding through programs such as KidSport for the 2026-27 season, in which case this is not required.
  • We will follow KidSport Financial Criteria - Click Here
  • All applications are strictly confidential. Information provided will only be used for the purpose of assessing eligibility for the fund.

Why Apply Early:

  • Funds are limited and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis to ensure that support is available for as many families as possible.
  • Applications will be accepted until August 31, 2026, or until the full $5,000 in funding has been allocated, whichever comes first.
  • Applying early helps our team plan effectively and ensures that every eligible player can access the support they need.

At Millwoods Hockey, we believe that financial challenges should never prevent a child from enjoying the benefits of hockey  including skill development, teamwork, and fun.

The Player Assistance Fund is just one way we work to make our programs inclusive and supportive for all families.

Applications are now open April 4th, 2026 - Click to Apply
