- With 5 minutes of scheduled ice time remaining, if more than 2 minutes of game time remains in the third period, the clock will be reset to 2 minutes. Games cannot run past their allotted times.
Tournament Format
Tied Games (Round Robin Play) - All Divisions
The following overtime format will apply to round robin play:
- All round robin games tied at the end of regulation play will proceed to a 4-player shoot-out, with no player allowed to shoot twice.
- All players except the shooter and the opposing goalie must remain on the bench.
- If the game is still tied after 4 shooters, the teams will continue to take alternate shots until a winner is decided.
- In the event a player was serving a penalty at the end of the third period. He/she can not be part of the original 4 shooters but can participate in the shoot out if undecided after the starting 4 shooters.
- Visiting team will shoot first.
- In the unlikely event that all players have taken a turn and the game remains tied. Players will take turns shooting again until the game is decided.
- Shoot out goals must be recorded on the game sheet as “SO” in place of time scored, and each goal must be recorded by the timekeepers.
- Teams will be awarded 3 points for a win.
- If teams are tied after the round robin event; the team with the lowest penalty minutes through out the round robin will advance.
- Goals for/against will only be considered if penalty minutes are tied as well.
Please consider that this tournament is focused on providing an enjoyable experience for all teams and players to wind up their season. Situations may occur where a team has been unintentional “miss-tiered”. Running up scores will not provide better access to the final games.
Division Standings
All divisions with 4 teams will play a three-game round robin format. The top two teams after round robin play will play in the “A” final and the last two teams will play in the “B” final.
Points will be awarded in the round robin as follows:
- Win – 3 points
- Shootout win – 2 points
- Shootout loss - 1 point
- Loss in regulation time – 0 points
As per above, for teams tied after round robin play, the first tie breaker to determine which team advances is the team with lowest number of penalty minutes.
