When will I be contacted as to what team my child is on?

Evaluations for U9, U11, U13  will begin the Monday of the Labour Day long weekend in September. Goalie evaluations will commence the first week following Labour Day. For the first skate you will be communicated via email. Everyone should be contacted by the Friday before Labour Day.. If you have not been contacted by an appropriate date please email or phone the appropriate category director – contact information is available on the Millwoods Hockey website by looking for “Executives / Contact”. Be sure to include your child’s name, age and your phone number.

Can I specify a certain coach or team that I want my child to play for?

Edmonton Minor Hockey Association requires that we tier players based on their skill level. You will only get a certain coach if your child is tiered to the same level that the person is coaching.

Can I request that my child play with a friend?

Millwoods Hockey may be able to accommodate your request, depending on a number of things; i.e. Are the children in the same Age Category? Are the children of relatively equal skill and ability? Did one of the children register late? Is there room on the team for this child? Each special request is evaluated individually by the Category Director and Hockey Director and a decision is made on a case by case basis. As you can see, addressing special requests is a time consuming exercise and the volunteers are already donating a great deal of their personal time to run our program. As a result, special requests are certainly not encouraged. Please let the registrar know of any special requests

What documentation do I need if I want to coach?

Please submit your interest to Coach via email to your Category Director - the information can be found under the Contact Tab - Executive

Where do I sign up to be a coach?

Same as above.

How will I find out my child's league schedule?

Schedules will be posted on our web site as soon as we have received them from Hockey Edmonton; Practice and game times will be communicated through your team manager or coach. Game schedules will be posted on the Hockey Edmonton website, while practice & game schedules will be communicated to you by your team’s coach and/or manager.

I am moving to a new home. What address do I put on the form if we have not moved yet?

Please use your new address when registering. Hockey Edmonton rules state residency from where you live on September 1st. All new players will have to provide proof of residency. If you do not have your new phone number as yet - put in the phone number you have now and email seeraadmin@shaw.ca with your new phone number.
