Child Fitness Tax Credit Facts

The program must last for at least eight weeks with a minimum of one session per week.

For kids under 10, the practice or game only has to last 30 minutes.  For kids 10-16, it is an hour per week.

You can claim up to $500 for expenses such as:

  • Registration fees
  • Administration costs
  • Instruction
  • Rental of facilities

You cannot claim:

  • Travel expenses
  • Accommodation
  • Food or beverages

There is no standard receipt of the Children’s Fitness Credit.  Each association must issue their own receipt.  Receipts need to include:

All receipts will be generated by Millwoods Hockey during the season and given to each Team Manager to distribute to the parents.

 CHANGES TO COMMUNITY LEAGUE MEMBERSHIPS

On April 19, 2010 the General Membership for the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues voted in favor of the following recommendation:  "That the Edmonton Minor Hockey Association be granted the right to sell $25 "Corporate Rate" family community league memberships to all of its minor hockey players, during hockey registrations."

Therefore, all families of Millwoods Hockey will pay an additional $25 in lieu of purchasing their community league memberships at time of registration.

***DO NOT PURCHASE YOUR COMMUNITY LEAGUE CARD PRIOR TO REGISTRATION***- if you are mailing in your registration please include an additional $25 with the registration fee made payable to MWHA.

DEFINITION:  CORPORATE RATE FAMILY MEMBERSHIP.
The Corporate Rate family membership is a special standardized rate of $25 for any Community League Family Membership when sold through the Edmonton Minor Hockey Association (hereafter referred to as EMHA).  This rate is available only to Hockey Registrants.  The fee amount was based on the average fee of Community League Memberships across the city.

For any questions on how to obtain your community league card and skate tags you must contact the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues at http://www.efcl.org/.
