2024-2025 Millwoods Hockey Volunteer Deposit Program

Millwoods Hockey is a volunteer-based organization. Volunteers are the heart and soul of Millwoods Hockey. The organization and every individual team cannot run without the volunteer support of the parents and organization.

2024 - 2025 volunteer deposit program: mandatory requirement
  • All families will be required to complete volunteer commitments for 2024-2025 unless they have chosen to pay the volunteer opt-out fee with their registration fees. The number of volunteer commitments required per family will depend on the number of players.
  • U7-U13 player families are required to complete two (2) volunteer commitments per player. Each credit is worth 4  hours.
  • We aim to collect all volunteer deposits at time of registration in-person. If doing online registration there will be a message and the end of payment on how and where to mail your volunteer cheque.
  • If registering online you will be given the option to opt out of volunteering and pay the required volunteer amount of $300 per player for U7 and $400.00 per player for U9-U11.
  • You will receive email notifications to sign up for events and given two opportunities to sign up. If you decline both opportunities the  deposit cheque  will be cashed.
  • All cheques will be shredded March 31, 2025 which is the end of hockey season.
  • There will be no carry over credits to the next season.
  • Please contact seeraadmin@shaw.ca for the mailing address if needed.
  • Include player(s) first and last name on the memo of cheque
  • If you would like to keep your deposit cheque on file for the duration that the player is with Millwoods Hockey - indicate this on the Online Registration - DO NOT DATE

Volunteer Deposit FAQs

How do I get notified of volunteer opportunities?
Upon completing the player registration online -  it will ask you to check jobs you would be interested in for the year. Please note this is not a guarantee that you will get the position you have selected and you will still be required to sign up when opportunities are presented.
Any indication of team participation will be noted at the team parent meeting at which time the team manager will be asked to provide the information to Kerri Bishop at seeraadmin@shaw.ca. Millwoods Hockey event sign up opportunities will be emailed out and detail the position and sign up process. There are more than enough volunteer tasks for all families to participate.

If I complete all my volunteer commitments, when will I receive my cheque/deposit back?
Cheques will no longer be returned or shredded. They will remain on the players file for the duration the player is with Millwoods Hockey.

How are these volunteer jobs tracked?
Volunteer positions will be recorded by the Millwoods Hockey administrator. The team manager will track and then submit on Dec. 1 and March 15 a list of team commitments completed to the administrator.

What if I have more than one child in Millwoods Hockey?
If you have more than one player in Millwoods Hockey  the deposit cheque is one cheque per player – U7 - $300.00 per player and U9-U11 - $400.00 per player
