The Tigers finally put a win on the board Friday night at the Southside Arena!
The Tigers went head to head with the Cobras in an after school special. After a very even first period, the Tigers jumped out to a one goal lead in the second. Mariah Bernal centered the puck from behind the net, and it was batted around for a few frantic seconds before the Cobras knocked it into their own net. When the dust settled the referees gave Jayden Weisser credit for the goal with an assist to Mariah Bernal. Late in the second period the Cobras stormed back with a goal from Samantha Calbick. The Tigers outshot the Cobras in the second period by a margin of 12-2.
The third period saw more domination from the Tigers as they outshot the Cobras 7-0. The Cobras netminder stood tall, but was unable to stop Kyle Jiminez who scored the game winner with an assist from Kacey Ericsson.
Coach Lee said, “Wow! I knew our players were going to have a break out game eventually, but even I didn’t see this one coming. After the first period we really dominated the play!”
