Millwoods Hockey – Tier 1 Tryout Information (2026–2027 Season)
Millwoods Hockey will be hosting U9/U11 and U13 Tier 1 tryouts for the 2026–2027 season. Tier 1 evaluations will be conducted by Competitive Thread, an independent third-party evaluator.
These tryouts are designed to identify players capable of competing at the Tier 1 level based on skill, pace, hockey sense, and overall performance. The evaluation process is structured to ensure fair, consistent, and objective assessment of all participants.
Overview
- All registered participants are guaranteed a minimum of two (2) skates.
- Players will be evaluated throughout all sessions by independent evaluators.
- Following the initial sessions, selected players will be invited to continue in the Tier 1 evaluation process.
- Final selections are based on overall performance during the evaluation period.
- Players not selected to advance will be returned to their home association for standard evaluations and team placement.
Cost
- $150.00 per player
- This fee is non-refundable
Tier 1 Commitment Expectations
Selection to a Tier 1 team requires a significant commitment from both players and families.
- Players should expect a commitment of 4–5 on-ice and dryland training sessions per week throughout the season.
- This includes team practices, skill development sessions, and off-ice training programs.
- Additional team events, tournaments, and exhibition games may also be scheduled throughout the season.
- Families should be prepared for additional seasonal costs, including but not limited to tournaments, team travel, and supplemental training or development programming.
Registration
Registration details, including dates and session schedules, will be provided by Millwoods Hockey. Additional communication regarding ice times and group assignments will be shared following registration.
