COORDINATOR ADMINISTRATION
Since 1964, Hockey Edmonton has been the governing body for all minor hockey in the city of Edmonton. Hockey Edmonton has 27 member organizations representing nearly 9,000 athletes and an additional 2,800 coaches, managers, trainers and association volunteers.

The Coordinator Administration must possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills, be well organized and enthusiastic. They must also be self-directed and resourceful, have a volunteer spirit and be a recognized team player.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Communication and Customer Service
  • Provides excellent customer service by handling a high volume of in-person, telephone and email inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
2) Registration
Primary functions include:
  • Provision of timely assistance, service, and response to day to day inquires of Clubs, Districts, and Operating Areas in the area of player and team registration.
  • Serves as the primary Hockey Edmonton contact / resource for the Hockey Canada Registry (HCR)
  • Manages all aspects of the Hockey Canada Registry (HCR) and ensures consistent use by member associations
  • Supports and liaises with recognized leagues regarding registration of Hockey Edmonton teams, players, and team officials.
  • Prepares HCR rosters and registration reports, of various nature for member associations, leagues, Quikcard Edmonton Minor Hockey Week, etc.
  • Any other duties as required with matters pertaining to player and team registration
3) Miscellaneous
  • Attendance at Board Meetings and AGM is expected, as well as any other meetings that requires information and support best provided by the incumbent
  • Ability to comply with a flexible work schedule in peak periods of the registration year.
  • Other duties that may be requested by the General Manager.

REQUISITE SKILLS
The candidate will:
  • The successful candidate will have a degree or diploma with a focus on sport, recreation or business management and experience in a working in a not for profit, sport or corporate setting – demonstrated equivalencies will be considered.
  • Be a self-starter, possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills and be able to effectively handle numerous tasks with tight deadlines.
  • Have a demonstrated ability to work with and provide leadership to volunteers
  • Have excellent data entry and skills with MS Excel in combination with a strong proficiency in MS Word, Outlook.
  • An interest and experience in the game of amateur hockey in the province of Alberta with a particular focus on registration process and regulations.
  • Familiar with and supports the purpose, vision, mission, core values, and bylaws and regulations of Hockey Edmonton and Hockey Alberta
  • Successfully completed the association’s policies with regards to the screening (e.g. Criminal Record Checks) and conflict of interest
COMPENSATION
  • Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. Applicants are requested to indicate the range that they believe to be appropriate.
